41 But he raises up the poor and lowly with his favor,
giving them a safe place to live where no one can touch them.
God will grant them a large family and bless them!
42 The lovers of God will rejoice when they see this.

Psalm 107:41-42a  TPT

Love + Power

Anyone want to see “on earth as it is in heaven?” WE DO! Each week at Breakthrough Minneapolis, we get to catch a glimpse.

We see wonders and miracles, encouraging prophetic words,  hearts moved by the reality of poverty, and hearts moved by the love of Christ. We see a team modeling the type of service that Jesus showed his disciples, and volunteers eager to serve, to make a difference.

When people look at this world and see what’s wrong, we can’t help but encourage them to come to Breakthrough. There’s just nothing more beautiful than people interacting in the love and kindness of Christ.

“I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name. And that is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to him. Ask me anything in my name, and I will do it for you!”

“Loving me empowers you to obey my commands. And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like me—and he will never leave you.” -John 14:12-17

Every Sunday, we prepare dinner for 50-120 homeless and poverty-stricken guests at the Historic Wesley Center. Each one recognizes the pangs of hunger in their belly, but many don’t even know their souls are hungry.

One thing- maybe the most important thing- that made David a great leader, king, warrior and song writer was his hunger for God.

O God of my life, I’m lovesick for you in this weary wilderness.
I thirst with the deepest longings to love you more,
with cravings in my heart that can’t be described.
Such yearning grips my soul for you, my God! -Psalm 63:1 TPT

We pray and minister to our guests during dinner, but will you join me in praying that more and more of our guests will become aware of their hunger for God and stay to hear the good news of life in Christ during our worship service?

Thank you!
